23-09-2020 - Kurdistan Regional Government president Nechirvan Barzani met with US Special Representative for Syria James Jeffrey and Special Envoy of the International Coalition Against ISIL and accompanying delegation in Erbil on Tuesday (September 22nd).
The meeting, which was also attended by the Minister of Peshmerga Affairs, the Commander of the Peshmerga Forces and the Head of the Kurdistan Regional Government's Foreign Relations Department, discussed the latest developments in Syria, the role of the coalition forces against ISIL and the fight against terrorism in Syria and Iraq, the situation of the Kurds.  Their alliance was discussed.
During the meeting, James Jeffrey stressed the continued support of the United States and the International Coalition for Kurdistan and its allies in the fight against terrorism and the eradication of ISIS in Syria, the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and said that in this regard, the necessary assistance to the Peshmerga forces and forces  An Iraqi will offer.
The US Special Envoy and Coalition Forces welcomed the Kurdish dialogue in Syria to resolve the problems and praised the positive role of Nechirvan Barzani and the Kurdistan Region in persuading the Syrian Kurdish currents to unite and resolve the problems.
The President of the Kurdistan Region, while appreciating the continued support of the United States and members of the International Coalition against ISIL, stressed the importance and necessity of continuing the international coalition's support for the Kurdistan Region and Iraq in order to ensure the complete elimination of ISIL.
