Ghani Slams ‘Enemies’ For Breaking Islamic Values
From Tolonews
25-11-2018 - President Ashraf Ghani on Wednesday night visited victims of Tuesday night’s bombing and slammed the “enemies” of the country, saying they were violating the principles of Islam.
After visiting victims being treated at the Emergency Hospital in Kabul, Ghani said in a recorded message outside the Intensive Care Unit that “Taliban cannot absolve themselves of responsibility by only condemning the attack.”
He said: “Sanctuaries and support infrastructure of suicide attacks, training centers and financial resources of terrorists are all located in a neighboring country.”
“We demand from our international friends to identify the government and countries that support acts of terror in Afghanistan.”
Ghani also said that those who introduced suicide attacks to Afghanistan are responsible for Tuesday’s attack.
“Taliban cannot absolve themselves of responsibility by only condemning the attack. They should stop killing Afghans, Muslims and human beings once and for all and take practical steps towards peace,” Ghani said.
He also lashed out at the “enemies” of Afghanistan and said that “the enemies of Afghanistan broke all moral and Islamic values. They attacked our tradition and national identity.”
“In the course of our history, even under the darkest eras, there has never been such a targeted, cowardly and heinous attack against the Ulema, against the Birthday of the Prophet (PBUH) and against Islam,” he added.
Over 50 people were killed during a religious ceremony at a wedding hall on Tuesday night when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives among an estimated 2,000 worshippers and clerics attending the event to mark Prophet Mohammad’s birthday.
The incident sparked widespread condemnation from individuals, organizations and governments both in Afghanistan and around the world.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
