On the ground, Palestinian journalists are being targeted.
The Israeli military is stepping up its violence and restrictions against Palestinian reporters in the occupied West Bank.
RSF looks back at the attacks committed in recent months against journalists: violence, shootings, access restrictions, arrests, and obstruction of the press.
Investigate, document, expose.
That is the mission of Reporters Without Borders: to gather facts, verify information, and amplify the voices of journalists when their freedom and safety are threatened.
In the West Bank, this work is more necessary than ever.
Nineteen Palestinian journalists from the West Bank are currently being held by Israeli authorities, including 15 who were detained following October 7, 2023.
On August 12, freelance journalist Mohammed Awad was arrested at his home and charged with “terrorism”.  The Israeli military has not, to date, responded to RSF’s request for information that supports this charge.
To document these violations, RSF relies on its investigative work and its network of correspondents on the ground.
